Susanne V. Hering, founder and President, has many decades of experience in the field of atmospheric aerosols. She holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Washington, with postdoctoral work in Environmental Engineering at the California Institute of Technology. After many years at UCLA, she left the academic world to form Aerosol Dynamics Inc. She has served as a Board Member and as President of the American Association for Aerosol Research, and in 2007 was honored as the recipient of the BYH Liu Award, presented by the Association in recognition of contributions to aerosol instrumentation.
Nathan M. Kreisberg, Senior Research Scientist, holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Texas, Austin. He has been with the company since 1994. In recent years he has carried the primary responsibility for the development of the Thermal Desorption Gas Chromatograph system for the in-situ measurement of organic compounds in atmospheric aerosols.
Gregory S. Lewis, Senior Research Scientist, holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Texas, Austin, with studies in turbulent flows. After several years in industrial research developing advanced optical disc drives, he joined ADI in 2004, where he has focused on the further development and application of the company’s growth cell technology.
Steven R. Spielman, Senior Research Scientist, holds a PhD in Applied Physics from Stanford University with studies in optical properties of solids. He joined ADI in 2008 after several years in industrial research in semiconductor metrology and optical data storage, and has carried responsibility for design of new condensational growth systems.
Arantzazu Eiguren-Fernandez, Senior Research Chemist, holds a PhD in Analytical Chemistry, University of Las Palmas de Grand Canaria, Spain. She joined ADI in 2010 after ten years at UCLA. She is involved in the design and development of new, portable aerosol instrumentation for time-resolved chemical and toxicological characteristics of ambient aerosols.
Jocelyn Bale Glickman, Mechanical Engineer, received her PhD from University of California, Berkeley. With expertise in fluid dynamics modeling and mechanical design, her efforts are divided among a variety of projects at the firm.
